Schedule for Hometown Holiday Greene 2017

The Christmas season is here… Celebrating Hometown Holiday Greene has been a cherished tradition for years, and this year is no exception.

Friday, December 1 - 6:00 pm meet at Memorial Park next to the Christmas tree with Mayor Phil Brown and a very special guest. We will illuminate the Christmas tree promptly at 6:15 pm and hold the drawing for the girls and boys bicycles. We will then sing Christmas carols while strolling to the Moore Memorial Library to savor hot chocolate and cookies. Donations for home baked cookies and candies are requested and greatly appreciated, so please have your favorite Christmas cookies delivered to the library no later than 1:00 pm Friday, 12/1.

Be sure to enter your child's name in the raffle box by Friday, December 1st at noon, to have a chance to win a one of these beautiful bikes generously donated by Raymond Corporation. These bicycles are 18" bikes with training wheels and for the safety of your young rider, a helmet will be included. Boxes marked "HOMETOWN HOLIDAY BIKE DRAWING" are located at Focus Salon, The Village Cafe, Bonnie's, The Great American, The Kids Room and Edward Jones Investments. To enter, drop the receipt from ANY of our Greene merchants with your child's name, age, address, phone number and gender on the back in any of these special boxes during their normal business hours. Bicycle drawing is for children up to age 10. The bicycles will be on display in the windows of Edward Jones Investments.

At 7:00 pm Zion Episcopal Church presents Christmas Collections. It's a time to celebrate our community, the blessings we have been given and to remember what this time of year is all about. Area churches, performers and youth come together to perform for you, so come and let the Christmas seasonal music surround you.

Saturday, December 2nd, you can start your morning at First Congregational Church with Breakfast with Santa, a holiday favorite! Breakfast is served from 8am - 10am. The church will be accepting a "free-will" offering to benefit Habitat for Humanity. Immediately afterwards, beginning at 10 am, Santa will be moving his sleigh to Moore Memorial Library for "Make & Take" crafts for the children until 1pm. Horse and wagon rides will be meeting on the corner of Genesee and Canal Street right next to the library, weather permitting, during that same time. Beginning at 11 am until sold out, our fabulous Greene Fire Department will be serving up its delicious Chicken BBQ. Come early so you won't miss out.

Sunday, December 3rd, Berean Bible Church is proud to present "Come Let us Adore", Word of Life's Revive Band concert at 6:00 – 7:15 pm. Bring a plate of your favorite Christmas cookies to share if you'd wish, and enjoy cookies with coffee or hot chocolate at 5:30 pm. Free child care will be provided for kids 0-5.

If you don't get a chance to visit with Santa, during these times, or perhaps you've been on the naughty list and are now moving over to the nice list, don't worry…. Santa will be in his cottage at the dedicated times:
